Dear Sagittarius,
the cheerful optimists and…. philosophers that you are, food certainly does not usually play a prominent role in your thoughts, and even when it does, you try every way not to be involved in the material aspect of life which lacks, in your eyes, the prerequisites necessary to be placed on a superior spiritual level. Sometimes depressed and restless, you are hardly willing to face any enormous, elaborate and overpowering, 8 course dinners.
However, you do like to eat, you love simple little restaurants with home style food, preferring healthy food and you are fond of deserts. But heaven help anyone who points this out to you (or worse yet, if you realize it yourself). You immediately withdraw, almost as if this pleasure had nothing to do with you or, perhaps it was just a “primordial instinct” to be repressed. You are always welcomed as a charming and cheerful guest. You love the tranquility of the country where you find your equilibrium in the distances, the silence and the sense of optimism. If your host adds a bit of culture or philosophy to the meal, with the gracefulness with which he distractedly serves the best of all possible on any table, well, you will be the perfect friend, who can taste, not only with your palate, but with your mind, these delicacies prepared for you by your host.
If the Sagittarius feels loved, if he feels comfortable, he can really be the most welcome guest at any party, mixing with everyone, discussing everything with everybody, even speaking to strangers, utilizing his natural savior faire. He’s on a higher plane, symbolic and abstract, on which he can hold any conversation with little effort.
When the Sagittarius does decide to cook, having an inborn talent, he is anything but superficial or clumsy, on the contrary, an excellent executor, putting his entire soul into the effort, with his indubitable creative gifts and that surprising touch of “out of the ordinary” which often serves to determine the ultimate, and never banal, results.
Willing to follow the mood of every situation, Sagittarius is always ready to pitch in and work together with others, something natural for him and which, in his eyes, responds to his sense of obligation and commitment. Cooking becomes a sort of game, an experience to enjoy with others, and this is exactly where he excels.
Naturally good at offering help to anyone who needs it, Sagittarius is the good friend and the perfect person to call at the last minute to rescue your burned roast beef or overcooked rice.
Intellectually “superior”, refined and gentile, he will affectionately rescue your desperate situation, lavishing care on your guests who would never dare anything less than the most enthusiastic comment. Of course, he will probably leave you with a pile of dirty dishes to wash but then….nobody’s perfect.
